Endocervical Specula and Curettes are a combined set of specialized instruments used by gynecologists for examining and obtaining tissue samples from the endocervical canal, the narrow passage that connects the cervix to the main cavity of the uterus. Endocervical Specula provide magnified visualization of the endocervical canal by gently widening and exposing it while the Curette is used to collect tissue samples from the lining of the endocervical canal.

Typical applications for these instruments include:

• Evaluation of abnormal Pap smear results: To investigate the cause of abnormal cell changes detected in a Pap test.
• Diagnosis of uterine bleeding: To identify potential causes of abnormal uterine bleeding.
• Endometrial biopsy: In some cases, a curette may be used to obtain a deeper tissue sample from the lining of the uterus (endometrium).
• Removal of polyps: Small endocervical polyps may be removed with a curette during the examination.
