Hayden Medical’s Nasal Rasps are made of German Stainless Steel. There are many different types of materials Nasal Rasps can be made of. The handle should always be German Stainless Steel and the tips can be either Stainless Steel, Tungsten Carbide (TC) or Diamond Dust Coated. Gold handles designate the rasp having a Tungsten Carbide or Diamond Dust Coated finishing surface. Rasps are available with many different grit patterns ranging from #1-#10. These vary in levels of coarsity for a variety of different techniques used during rhinoplasty procedures. 

Nasal rasps vary in tip size depending on how fine of a cutting surface is needed. Our double ended rasps are the standard with 7mm wide x 40mm long platforms and our finest rasps are as small as 2mm wide x 3mm long platforms. From initial filing to fine-tuning and finishing, Hayden Medical has a Nasal Rasp that will suit your surgical needs.

Tungsten Carbide Rasps – Double the Strength of Steel!

Hayden Medical’s Tungsten Carbide Rasps meet and exceed the industry standard for nasal rasps. The finishing surface on Hayden Medical’s TC Rasps are made of a strong and durable tungsten-carbide alloy. Tungsten Carbide is twice as stiff and double the density of steel making this the ideal material for use in crafting precision nasal instruments.

Note: Just because the weight and density of Tungsten Carbide is twice of that in steel doesn’t mean you’re going to have a heavy instrument. Our ergonomic and lightweight stainless steel handles help to make a balanced instrument in your hand, maximizing surgeon comfort as well as patient trauma with precision crafted German Nasal Rasps
